We are about to embark on a 6-8 week bathroom remodel (wish us luck), and as part of that we're cleaning out stuff we don't need. We sorted thru Rohan's clothes &, in addition to the newborn-3 mos stuff we'd already given away, we sorted out the 6 mos items. Our wonderful nanny is herself pregnant, so we will give her all the clothes.
Without getting too teary-eyed, I was able to put in a bag to give away:
- the adorable blue-green "My Aunt Loves Me" onesie
- Lots of other froggie-stuff from Aunt Heather
- the blue-white striped train-engineer overall & cap outfit
- the hand-me-down items from Sarah Daly-pretty much too used/stained to give back now
- the other teeny stuff I remember opening @ Deven's baby shower, and marveling @ the size and wondering what experiences we were going to face.
We will keep just a few items - the sweater Daadi knitted; the outfit of name-brand khakis with ducks on them & belt, button-down-shirt, and argyle socks; and hats - the 2 yellow-white ones that Aunt Carolyn knitted, and the blue hat with ear flaps & handy neck-tie from Aunt Anne. We still have- and are using- the knitted baby blankets, and will keep those, just like my mom kept a few outfits for Heather & me.
But our boys are growing up, and giving away the clothes are just one reminder!
